Where Art & Nature Intersect

Home of Alice the T-Rex

Our dinosaur, Alice the T-Rex, has quickly been embraced as a cultural landmark and KVR Trail walking milestone in the City of Penticton. Alice stands at nearly 50 feet long and 35 feet tall. She is 17,000 pounds of handmade mirror-polish stainless steel created by the artist Kevin Stone. It took two years to construct Alice.

Did you know? Of the millions of dinosaurs that roamed the Earth, we have only discovered 40 complete specimens of T-Rex? Many other partial T-Rex remains have been discovered...a tooth, or a leg bone. Those fossils have been used to benchmark which dinosaur was the largest. Alice the T-Rex has been modeled as what would have been the largest complete version of a Tyrannosaurus Rex based on known fossils. The first reaction many guests have is that they thought she would be bigger!

Eden Park guests can stand beneath Alice and reflect on what it might have been like to be a human in that era. The public can view Alice from the KVR Trail in Penticton, 800 meters North of the Vancouver Place or Bankview Road entrances.
